After a long period of being offline due to a security issue with the old site, we are happy to announce the launch of our new, updated website! The new site is built on the Drupal Content Management System (CMS) which will allow members to keep content up to date and exchange information.

April Meeting

A new events calendar has been added to the website. The calendar is updated by the Board Members through a Google calendar and will show upcoming events, meeting times, etc.

HIBA Meeting April 27 - Relief for Tohoku Area

The next HIBA Meeting will be on relief for the Tohoku area.
HIBA member Toby Weymiller will give a talk with Slides called
“12 Days in Tohoku”

Come listen to his experience at the 20km perimeter of the nuclear power plant
and what he experienced there, as well as the many other devastated areas in Iwate,
Sendai that he visited on his 8,000 kilometers of animal rescue & support.

The Rogue Foundation has donated $5,000 to Tohoku relief.
HIBA will put up the difference to make it into ￥500, 000.

ABOUT JEARS

Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support (JEARS) is a collaboration of three established and registered no kill animal rescue non-profit organizations in Japan including Japan Cat Network, HEART-Tokushima and Animal Friends Niigata. JEARS' mission is to coordinate rescue and support efforts for animals in crisis due to the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Northern Japan. HIBA Meeting August 29th - Tourism Round Table Discussion

The next HIBA meeting will be a tourism round table discussion to take place on August 29th. This meeting will be open to the public and we invite anyone interested in tourism development in Hokkaido to attend. The venue will be determined shortly. We are looking for representatives from the tourism sector in both private business and government to join as round table members.
